Rivera Masonry Incorporated

As a native of Arizona, Al Rivera was raised with a healthy sense of work ethics. Al dreamed of owning a successful business someday.

He started by serving his apprenticeship in Phoenix with the Bricklayers Local Union Number 3 in 1978. He was awarded first place in the statewide apprentice contest in 1979 and 1980 and became journeyman in late 1980.

Al worked for various masonry contractors over the next two years. When the vision of owning his own business became a reality as he passed the contractors licensing test and became fully licensed as Rivera Masonry on February 20, 1982.

Rivera Masonry worked in the residential sector from 1982 until 1986. His first contract was with Pulte Homes building brick veneer exterior and interior fireplaces in new homes.

In 1986 Al (Rivera Masonry) was incorporated and became, as it is known today, Rivera Masonry Incorporated. He then began bidding commercial projects. Al has always been very proud of his work, some of which include the Maswik Parking Lot, Visitors Center and Train Station on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.

One of the commercial projects that impressed Al the most is located in Casa Grande. Known as the Cole and O' Neil Building, A two story, brick replica of a Victorian style building from the 1800's.

Rivera Masonry Incorporated is currently working though out the valley. They have built ADOT sound walls on both the Superstition Freeway and along Price Road, as well as the 101 Loop, and also on 1-17.

What does the future hold? Well Al would like to see Rivera Masonry Incorporated become foremost in the industry, somewhere in top five hopefully.

I was also Nominated and excepted to The Rotary Club 1999.1 declined due to work schedule. I told them that it was a great honor.

My most memorial Honor was when I was invited by Governor Rowland the Chairman of The then 39 Current Republican Governors Committee. And then Arizona's Governor's Jane Hall to their One Nite Dinner with The President George Bush I was going to be one of Arizona's Delegates. In September 23rd, 2003.

I did not Attend do to Fraud that had been going on at the time (Unknow To Me— at the time)

And as far as what does the future hold? Rivera Masonry Inc. did make it in the Top Five Foremost in the Masonry Industry. In The Year 2005.
